TRUCHETET Marie-Elise
Prof. Marie-Elise Truchetet is Professor of Rheumatology at the Université de Bordeaux and a rheumatologist at CHU de Bordeaux. Her clinical and research activities focus on systemic autoimmune diseases, particularly systemic sclerosis. She conducts translational research within ImmunoConcEpT (UMR CNRS 5164), with a particular interest in vascular dysfunction, inflammation and fibrosis. Her work aims to better understand the mechanisms involved in disease progression, patient heterogeneity and the development of severe organ complications. She combines clinical cohorts, biological samples and experimental approaches to identify new biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Prof. Truchetet is also actively involved in clinical research and in the evaluation of innovative treatments for systemic sclerosis and other difficult-to-treat autoimmune diseases. Her work seeks to bridge fundamental research and clinical practice in order to improve disease stratification and develop more personalised therapeutic strategies. She has major responsibilities within European research networks and currently serves as President of EUSTAR, the European Scleroderma Trials and Research group. Through her clinical and scientific activities, she contributes to improving the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of systemic sclerosis and related autoimmune diseases.
