MARTINEZ Laurent

Laurent Martinez holds a PhD in Human Pathophysiology from the University of Toulouse and is a Research Director at Inserm. He conducted research at Columbia University (United States) and the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom) before joining Inserm in France.

Author of around 100 scientific publications, he leads the LiMitAging team at the Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases (Toulouse, France). His research focuses on the mechanisms of action and functions of key players involved in lipoprotein metabolism and mitochondrial function across various pathophysiological contexts, including aging, atherogenic dyslipidemia, and hepatic and vascular dysfunctions.

Within the recently established Institute for Healthy Aging (IHU HealthAge) in Toulouse, he also leads a research program investigating immunometabolism and mitochondrial function in aging.
